Jogging or running. Good question. For me, I jog. My pace for a mile is 12 minutes. If I were running, my pace for the same mile would be 6 minutes. :D

I jog nightly at a nearby cemetery. I have been using the cemetery for the past 2.5 years now. Its quiet, hardly any car traffic, and close to home. The winding road is almost a mile around.

When I first started jogging there, (Again, I jog in the evening, and it's usually dark in the winter and fall) the local police department would cruise through now and again. They would always drive up behind me and then pull up next to me and ask what I'm doing? Here I am, dressed in jogging attire, sweating, with my MP3 player cranking, and he didn't know I was jogging.

Politely I would explain that I am jogging and that yes I know it is in the evening but I would tend to believe that people would be more afraid of seeing me in the cemetery than me seeing them.

The officer would accept this explanation and drive off leaving me to continue.

This occurred for several weeks with almost the same scenario, just different patrol officers except for one time when the officer pulled me over and asked what I was doing in the cemetery at night. Again, i said just jogging, trying to stay healthy. He then smiles and says, "Be careful in here, people are dying to get in here!"

So yes, I jog and not run in the cemetery.
